In this study, some tree species dominated exclusively in one
forest type, but other trees showed contrasting distributions
among forest types with different land use histories. For example,
C. carlesii dominated in LS and ML sites, and Lindera kwangtungensis
(H. Liu) C.K. Allen was abundant both in MS and MOG sites. The local
abundance of particular species might be caused by landscape
factors such as the proximity of nearby populations, and seed dispersal
of different species in the initial phases of succession can affect
successional trajectories
