Two people, including the driver, were killed and four other workers injured, two seriously, when a truck loaded with glass crashed into a hill in Mae Sot district of Tak province on Saturday. Police and soldiers rushed to the scene at kilometre maker 15 on the Mae Sot-Tak Road after being alerted about the accident at 11am. They found a 10-wheel truck overturned and badly damaged, with broken glass scattered along the road. Two men, including the truck driver, were found dead at the scene and four other workers injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. According to a police investigation, the truck was travelling at high speed when its brakes failed on a sharp curve. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the truck to crash into Hill 700. Chakkrit Sonphueng, 20, one of the survivors, told police that he and five other workers were travelling on the truck delivering glass from Phitsanulok to Mae Sot.
