3.2. Rainwater distribution in the soil profile perpendicular to crop lines
In the direction perpendicular to crop lines, water distribution patterns in the soil profile were sharply different among three treatments, irrelative to rainfall simulation durations (Fig. 4). In the FP plots, the blue dye was evenly stacked in the surface layer. However, in the RF plots, the dyed region showed a form looking like “a flying goose”: thinner and shallower on the ridge shoulders but thicker and deeper in the bottom of the furrows. In the FMRF plots, the dyed range fully converged to the bottoms of the furrows.
