Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Premiere of “Vagif as I knew him”, a full documentary film about Azerbaijani jazz composer and pianist Vagif Mustafazade, took place at the Nizami Cinema Centre yesterday. Shooting of the film was sponsored by BPAzerbaijan.
Gordon Birrell, BP’s Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, said that BP has and realizes long-term plans for sustainable multicultural development of Azerbaijan.
“As Azerbaijan’s long-term oil and gas partner, BP has been closely involved with the country’s rich cultural life since the early days of its presence here.We believe our cultural initiatives – the films, books, cultural researches, concerts, archaeological studies that we sponsor, along with other major social investment programmes we are undertaking in Azerbaijan, fully support the country’s long-term plans for sustainable multicultural development,” Birell said.
He added that the documentary film will promote to recognition of Azerbaijan’s jazz and international recognition of the country as a cultural centre.
