4.1.1. Pre and post analysis of tsunami safety
The first data set conducted in December 2010 and January 2011
(six years after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami) and the same
number of questionnaires from the second data conducted in
September and October 2011 (six months after the March 11, 2011
Japanese tsunami) were used to compare changes in tourist
perceptions toward tsunami safety measures during normal time
and immediately after the crisis. A comparison of the two data sets
on 10 tsunami safety measures is presented in Table 2. MANOVA
was performed on 500 bootstrapped samples with 95% confidence
interval.
