Furthermore, there were three compound detected when the rubber was treated with 0.5% Formaldehyde as compared to the raw rubber. 5H-Naphto[2,3-c] carbazole,5-methyl- and 7HDibenzo[b,g] carbazole,7-methyl was detected at the same retention time (4.31 minutes) whereas, 5α-Cholestan-2one,oxime was detected at retention time of 14.73 minutes. The treatment of rubber using 1.0% Formaldehyde shows reduction of compound in which 5H-Naphto[2,3-c] carbazole,5-methyl- (4.31 minutes). This resulted in effective antimicrobial activity by Formaldehyde that reduce or eliminate the obnoxious odor.
