Much of what is traditionally understood as ‘patient non-adherence’ are deliberate choices made by patients in the face of difficulties they experience with the form and nature of their pressure garment therapy.Clear guidelines for practice and follow-up procedures in out-patient rehabilitation services may help improve patients compliance since lack of information provided about PGT modality has been demonstrated to be one of the possible major causes of low compliance.36 Moreover, social support and a good doctor–patient relationship are important supportive factors that help patients to persevere with their therapy.
