Airborne microorganisms are
generally referred to as bioaerosols, which are airborne particles
that are of biological origin (Sanchez-Monedero and Stentiford,
2003). Inhalation of bioaerosols can cause a variety of inflammatory,
hypersensitivity, and allergic responses in the lungs (Bunger
et al., 2007; Herr et al., 2003), especially in sensitized individuals.
