Definitions
1. Emergency Exit Door: An emergency exit door is
a door identified as emergency exit in evacuation
plan.
2. Landing: The landing is a level walking surface
between doorframe and stairs. The landing must
be at least 1 meter (3 feet) before beginning of
first step up or down.
Supplier/Facility Action Items
1. Emergency exit pathways must remain fully
accessible to allow employees a way out of the
facility in the event of a fire; and
2. Auditors will notify facility management before
opening emergency exit doors. Facility
management must de-activate emergency fire
alarm prior to auditor assessment of emergency
exit doors.
