The room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) emission spectrum
of grass-like nanostructured GaN has been shown in Fig. 3(b)
Ultraviolet light used to excite the product was obtained from
xenon lamp and its excitation wavelength was set at 325 nm. A strong
emission peak 368.8 nm (3.36 eV) has been observed which is due to
the near band edge-related emission. The well-known yellow and
blue band emissions were not observed in our sample, which is a
good agreement with the PL of pure GaN [4,8].The intensive PL emission
spectrum indicated that it has potential application in light emitting
devices and LED's
