(2006) reported that DM yield of sole crop cereal forages was significantly higher than when intercropped with different legumes. The results are contradictory to those of Tripathy et al. (1997) and Krishna et al. (1998) who obtained higher forage yield of cereals when they were sown with cowpea. The contradictory results may be due to the varietal and experiment management differences.
