In spite of the aforementioned issues and concerns, those who wish to repurpose OER for use in their own
institutions need not despair. In fact, quite the opposite should be considered: If it can be assumed that at least a
percentage of those who re-use and repurpose OER are also intending to rerelease them under an open source
license, at each stage there may be increasing levels of improvement of these resources for others to use, the
potential addition of student content over time, and a growing body of knowledge that over time will improve
practice and increase proficiency in developing course for broader use beyond the immediate audience.
