Iron(III) chloride hexahydrate (FeCl3•6H2O), ethylene glycol (EG), 1.2-ethylenediamine and sodium acetate(NaAc) were used to prepare Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). Ammonia, 3- (Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate, Iodidevinyl-3-methylimidazolium [ViMIM][I], Divinylbenzene (DVB) and 2,2-Azoisobutyronitrile (AIBN) were purchased to synthesize the novel adsorbent. HPLC grade methanol, acetonitrile and acetone were obtained from J&K chemical. Water was purified with a Milli-Q ultra-pure water system. The buffered solution was adjusted with a pH metre. An ultrasonic cleaner Model KH 2200DV was used to assist with adsorption and desorption.
