In [22], security protocols are proposed to detect the authenticity
of a RFID tag. The authors present a PUF based solution
for an off-line authentication of RFID tags. In this approach,
PUF is used as a secure storage to keep secret authentication
keys. The keys are stored in the physical structure of the PUF
and derived from the PUF when needed. A key extraction
algorithm that needs fuzzy extractor and a helper data is
used to reconstruct the key. This proposal uses public key
cryptography which is exceedingly expensive for low-cost
RFID tags.
