In terms of methodology, researchers have recently adopted
various research designs to examine souvenirs, often using surveys
with a focus on administering questionnaires to tourists and consumers, experimental research, interviews and the adoption of both qualitative surveys and questionnaires. The above studies have
primarily focused on consumers and have attempted to understand
their perspectives, cognition and behaviors. Relatively few studies
have investigated souvenirs as the subject of research. For example, adopted semiotic analysis to examine totems and
symbols of souvenirs. To understand the attributes and essence of
food specialties as well as food souvenirs, the current research will
use food specialties as samples for analysis and investigation.
