DESIGN INSPIRATION
Reflecting the history of Laos as a former French colony in the late 19”‘ century, our hotel
in historic Luang Prabang is housed in the former residence of the late Prince Souvanna
Phouma. Showcasing a refined and unique blend of French colonial architecture with
Laotian motifs, the stately colonial mansion is an authentic representation of its time.
Savour the hotel's old-world charm with its louvre wooden shutters, large windows, and
decorative roof edging with pointed finials typical of Laos. Step inside and you will be
introduced to the richness of Laotian textiles, which adorn the rooms in wall hangings,
cushion and bed covets. Full of intricate patterns inspired by nature, myth and ancient
lore, the textiles feature highly symbolic motifs which showcase the rich traditions and
cultural diversity of Laos.
