Scales and skin were then
neutralized by washing with water until samples reached a pH 7.
The scales were cut into small pieces. Scales and skin samples
were then subjected to ASC extraction by treating samples with
0.5 mol/L acetic acid for 24 h. Next, samples were centrifuged at
20,000 g for 15 min. The supernatants of scale ASC extraction and
skin ASC extraction were salted out by adding NaCl to a final
concentration of 2 and 0.5 mol/L, respectively.
