To whom it may concern,

I have thought of another excuse to use that introductory phrase: I feel like the word "whom" is not used enough in conversational English. I am trying to change that.

Also, Snickers have been lying to me my whole life. It is my go to snack here. I am actually eating one right now. Anyhow, they have been telling me this whole time that a regular, typical Snickers bar is 250 calories when in reality, it is only 247. Not that I care, or that three calories is even a big deal, but I found it interesting.

On Friday, Elder Williams and I went to the office in Asoke to have a little chat with the Mission President and then to learn about our special assignment. We talked to him about obedience because Elder Williams was having a hard time with inconsistent rules and things like that. It was a really good interview! After that, we learned that because our recent convert records are so clean and good, we are in charge of helping the whole mission do the same thing. We will be going to the office on a regular basis to prepare for a Bangkok tour to train missionaries on how to use Microsoft Excel the right way and in a way that is helpful for other people. I am really excited. Having said that, I don't really know what I am doing, that is mostly Elder Williams. But, I can keep records updated. That much I can do, so I will do that.

Saturday was a bit of a rough day. Not for any particular reason, but it just felt long. It was a really good day, don't get me wrong, but it felt wrong somehow.

Sunday, however, was absolutely wonderful. We got to the church and got things in order and then we prepared for what turned out to be one of the best baptismal services I have ever seen.
Sister แบงค์ (Bank) got baptized yesterday. Her best friend from Sakon Nakhon, Sister ลำพู (Lampoo) came down unexpectedly to be there with her. The speakers were amazing, the musical number was glorious, and there were many tears shed in that room as we prepared for the baptism. Right after she came out of the water, ลำพู came up to me and expressed her sincere gratitude for what I had done for her and her beloved best friend. I was confused at first and then realized that she had been praying and fasting for her for over a year that her heart would be opened again to the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, even Jesus Christ. Well it was. And in case there is information missing, this is the story:

Sister ลำพู, a member that I knew from Sakon Nakhon called me about two months ago to ask for directions to the church. She said that she had some friends that wanted to come to English class. I gave her the directions and then didn't think too much about it because so many people call and then don't come. Well they did come. One of them is Sister แบงค์. After English, we taught them a lesson on the Gospel of Christ. She was mildly interested. Afterwards, we learned that she had been an investigator in Sakon Nakhon over a year ago. It was a wonderful surprise! We continued to teach her until yesterday, when she got baptized. It was an amazing service. There were tears of joy, music from Above, and wonderful talks that brought the Spirit. Right after she was baptized, her friend expressed her sincere gratitude for my efforts. I was confused as to what she meant because I hadn't really done that much. Then, I remembered that they have been best friends for eleven years. She has poured her heart out for Sister แบงค์ on numerous occasions. I was overcome as I sat there in shock. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I love this work!

Our current investigators are doing really well. Sister เจส (Jess) is really good. We may have to push her date back a week but she is progressing really well. She has some solid friends in the branch and, get ready for this one, has read the whole Book of Mormon already. She is amazing!

Brother เทพ (Tape) has expressed a sincere desire to get baptized as well but he hasn't been keeping up with his commitments. We will try to continue to help him. He is really good! He just has a lot of concerns.

Elder Williams and I are doing really well. I would say beyond the usual just okay. We are really working well and hard together. It is awesome.

I know that the Lord hears and blesses our prayers. Please don't ever think for a moment that He does not. He listens and responds but we must be ready for the response. The answers come in His timing, not ours. Often times, they also come in ways that we don't really expect so get ready. The thing that amazes me as I work with all of these people is their sincere desire to get an answer yet they don't really open their hearts! They expect a dream or a crazy manifestation that will act as a sign for them. While these things do occur frequently, they aren't necessarily the norm. Therefore, we must be willing and ready to accept the answer that comes to us.

I have seen this Gospel and the Atonement change lives. It has changed mine. It has changed the lives of thousands of people here in Thailand. It has changed the lives of millions of people around the world. It will continue to do so because it is true!

I know that this Church is true. I support it and believe it with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength.

Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. Through Him, we can find peace in this life. We can find true, real, and lasting happiness in our lives.

1) Sister แบงค์ (Bank) at her baptism. She is awesome! It was a wonderful day. One that I will definitely always remember.

2) In my opinion, the best baptismal picture of all time. I love it so much. The two of them have been best friends for over eleven years and Elder Williams and I have been best friends for almost three months now. It's just a couple of best friends together. Also, I knew Sister ลำพู (Lampoo) from Sakon Nakhon so that makes things all the more wonderful.

3) Some of the members got all dressed up for a dance presentation thing at a Relief Society activity. It was really cool. I wasn't actually there because I am not in the Relief Society because that's kind of a girl thing, but I heard it was great.

4) Me and the cutest kid ever. He was playing on a members phone so we decided to take some selfies together. And then I had to get one for me too!

5) So on the way home from Asoke on Friday, the taxi driver gave me these glasses because they don't really help him anymore. Then, a member put her hair, bow, or whatever you call that thing, on me and it made for a great photo.

6) Some member brought this dog to the church a couple days ago. It was the center of attraction for the time it was there. It was so cute!

7) Sister พิม (Pim) and Sister จ๋า (Jaa), who are basically best friends, just happened to wear basically the same thing to church on Sunday. They wouldn't really let me take a picture of their faces so I just had to settle with this. They are crazy good at accidentally matching. It's happened before too!
