World Environment Day is marked every year on June 5 to remind all of us hare on earth what we've done and what we're doing to the world. Our blue planet is gradually being degraded and destroyed by us humans. Today, the world is facing a barrage of environmental problems and the negative outcomes seem more apparent as the years go by. Although many thoughts-provoking advertising and social campaigns help improve the situation to some degree, the big picture seems almost hopeless, like no one wants to put their hands in the fire. We all know the facts, we feel sad but we do nothing. The environmental problems include disasters such as pollution, flooding, drought, landslides, forest fires and more. However, each different country has unique problems of its own and Thailand is no exception. NJ has compiled a list of the major environmental crises from all regions of the country for you guys to help protect our beloved home. The north is no longer green Deforestation is the main cause of the many problems affecting northern Thailand. Residents here frequently confront wildfires that cause dangerous levels of pollution, which in turn poses a serious threat to people's health. Another big problem in the north is shifting cultivation,a style of farming which continually encroaches on the forests. This kind of farming has destroyed many green areas in the north of Thailand. The centre of pollution The central provinces of Thailand, especially Bangkok, are suffering from an excessive number of cars and vehicles, the main cause of air pollution, while water pollution is a close second.
