increased intracranial pressure (IICP) related to:
accumulation of blood in the cerebral tissue associated with surgical trauma to the cerebral vessels
cerebral edema associated with increased capillary permeability of cerebral vessels and an increase in cellular volume resulting from disruption of the sodium pump within the cells (both can occur as a result of cerebral hypoxia)
hydrocephalus associated with obstruction of normal CSF flow resulting from edema, hematoma, presence of blood in the subarachnoid space, and/or occlusion of ventricular shunt if present
increase in cerebral vascular volume associated with vasodilation of the cerebral vessels;
