5.1.2.2. Polygenetic fans. These fans are composed of variable depositional
units separated by immature paleosols. The minimum thickness
exposed of these fans varies from 1.15 to 9 m. As a whole, the deposits
are tan to light-brown in color, partly indurated, and ranging
in thickness from 0.2 to 3 m. Each deposit is heterolithologic with
sub-angular to sub-rounded fragments sporadically imbricated.
Fragments have centimetric dimensions and are embedded in a medium
to coarse sand matrix. Five alluvial fans (A1, A10, A28, A31, and
A34) exhibit hyperconcentrated flow deposits and the 1902 Santa
María fall deposit interbedded with abundant debris flow deposits and
paleosols.
