Dear All
It has come to our attention that there has been some confusion when it comes to the computation of travel allowances for each co-worker participating in the SISAN project.
Under the existing Travel Policy (Clause 5.3 - Long Trips/Service Apartments), the allowance for each traveller is reduced to 60% from Day 15 of the stay. (please see below).
This is a universal policy within the IKEA group of companies & it nothing new. So what Adeline and Christina have been advising the travellers is appropriate without given additional information.
Quote from policy :
Long Trips / Service Apartments
The allowance is reduced if you spend a long time in one country as familiarity leads to lower costs. If a business trip lasts more than 14 days without interruption at the same place, the allowance is reduced to 60% from the 15th day.
Under such circumstances, arrangements will be made for the traveler to stay in a service apartment /"home-like‟ accommodation (i.e. with cooking facilities) for long-stay of > 2 weeks due to the nature of the business meeting/project.
If the stay exceeds 28 days, you shall make a special agreement with your Line Manager before the departure.
