The Country
Originally known as Siam, the Kingdom of Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been colonized by a European power. Consequently, this country is full of diversity and strong cultural heritage. Thai culture remains dominant even in modern cities with the driving force being the belief in Theravada Buddhism. The Thais are a hospitable, fun-loving, and easy-going people which may be why Thailand currently draws more visitors than any other country in this region.
