Most of the features that were rumored to be part of the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 update have been released already as part of the recent GDR1 update for Windows Phone 8.1 devices. Windows Mobile 10 is reported to include a number of UI changes and support for newer hardware like the Snapdragon 810 and 805 chipsets, higher RAM and Quad HD resolution. With the announcement of Windows Mobile 10, we can expect to see new high-end flagship smartphones running the platform at MWC this year. Apart from Microsoft Lumia devices, we expect to see flagship devices from other manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC as well. The Windows Mobile 10 preview release can be expected soon after Microsoft officially announced the OS at its January 21 event. Initially the preview will be restricted to a select few users, with an upgrade to the OS for current Windows Phone 8.1 running devices expected to arrive before the end of this year.
