Rubber particles (25-40% of to
tal latex volume), variable in
shape, but usually pear-
shaped or spherical, and about 6 nm to 5 micron in size;
•
Lutoids (10-20%), 0.5 nm to 3 micron in size, having an impact on the stability and
flow of the latex;
•
Frey-Wyssling particles (5%) which play
probably a role in the coagulation and
oxido-reduction processes; and
•
Other elements like proteins,
resins, sugars, glycosides, ta
nnins, alkaloids, mineral
salts, and secondary metabolites.
