The thickness of active films decreased significantly in comparison
with the control (p < 0.01). This significant diminutionwas
more noticeable at the highest concentration of Proallium®. This
observation was related to a higher fluidity of the PLA and Proallium
® mixtures, which had a tendency of melting to generate a
non-homogeneous thickness profile along the width of the films
(transverse machine direction). However, Erdohan et al. (2013)
reported no significant differences in the thickness of PLA when
incorporating olive leaf extract.
