I’m repeating myself but it’s impressive how Yuu, of all people, is able to think at a level beyond the typical human flee-response, and even more rationally than Mika who is a vampire now and was always a thinker to begin with. He’s able to dig for the truth without the influence of his emotions and he even stumbled upon Mahiru’s shadow in manipulating the events.
Also, an interesting side note: as they run, everybody is out of breath and sweating except for Kimizuki, Yuu and Mika. Now we know for sure who are the stamina monsters there.
Anyway, confirmation of friendship and camaraderie is nice and all, but from Yuu’s train of thought and the following turn of events, in that situation meeting and having a talk with Ferid would apparently have been a better choice which probably would’ve kept the harmful consequences to a minimum. They will be forced to meet with Ferid anyway, but now the hard way, after having to play with Crowley first (who might be feeling a little vengeful after having to exercise himself to run after them). But well, let me reiterate: all points to Mitsuba’s making out of this mess alive and with all of her limbs properly attached.
What I’m more concerned about is that Yuu’s newly found collected and rationally thinking side won’t hold out when his comrade is getting injured before his eyes. But if he is to meet and talk with Ferid, he will need all of his composure and brains, so I hope that once he realizes that Crowley doesn’t really intend to kill any of them if they’re not resisting, he’ll calm down enough to not be an easy prey to Ferid’s mind games.
As a conclusion, well, we’re still waiting for that meeting between Ferid and Yuu&co, but hopefully next month we’ll finally see it. Ferid’s intentions are shrounded in the dark, as always, and what he wants out of this meeting is certainly intriguing, as well as how he will go about making Yuu and Mika his “comrades”. Maybe next month we’ll also see some glimpses of what’s going on on the JIDA’s side (and with Guren in particular). Ah, and sorry for the wall of text (I blame that obscure Michaela novel reference, it got me started and I just couldn’t stop writing about the novel…)
And on a last very unrelated note: hopefully someone unlocks and posts these cards from Bloody Blades
