Firstly, the device is driven by the minimal valve current
i∗= imin and thus the hardest characteristic is applied. As is
confirmed by the experimental results in the upper part of
Fig. 3, hysteresis effects are quite prominent because of the
high damping coefficient. Thus, the measurement signal can
be reproduced much better by the dynamic model than by
the static characteristics. Secondly, the device is set to the
softest characteristic, i. e. i∗=imax. In this configuration both
models can replicate the measurement
