One of the cruciferous vegetables grown in Thailand especially the Southern part includes Brassica hybrid cv. Pule (or longlived cabbage). Its health benefits have been known due to its high levels of beta-caroteen, vitamin C, and riboflavin (กรมส่งเสริมการเกษตร), however there is no report of glucosinolate profiles of this vegetable and literature on its bioactive compounds is still lacking. Thus, this vegetable is chosen for our study to determine its GSL profiles and as well as its degradation ITC products upon hydrolysis.
