“Cheatham Hill administrators were not aware in advance of the activity,” the statement said.
“The activity in question was not an approved lesson plan. School officials are taking appropriate personnel action with the teacher.”
Bunch-Keemer identified the teacher in the Facebook post, and the name matches a white fifth-grade social studies teacher at Cheatham Hill. That teacher's website says she has taught there for two years, comes from "a family of educators" and provides "a positive learning environment packed full of hands on activities and encouragement."
The teacher did not immediately return messages from the Daily News.
The district did not officially identify the teacher or say if she faced any punishment.
The district also did not detail how the teacher brought the game into her curriculum without any administrators knowing.
