Nong Khai is a small city but it’s a big friendly place in Thailand. Nong Khai is in the North-East of Thailand. It’s a border province close to Laos with the Mekhong river running in the middle of them. When you think of Nong Khai you will imagine it as a doorway to Indochina countries such as Laos, Vietnam and China.
Nong Khai is an historical place because of the Indochina war about 100 years ago. Thai soldiers sacrificed their lives to keep their homeland from Ho-robbers then the government made a monument of them to praise their brave hearts. In March, there is a ceremony to celebrate and remember them which lasts for about 15 days and you can shop for many things too.
