Therefore we attempt to provide some of the theoretical challenges facing project management practice. In fact, we
suggested that all projects share one common characteristic – the projection of unique ideas and activities into new
endeavours and the ever-present element of risk and uncertainty which indicates that the events and tasks leading to
completion can never be foretold with absolute accuracy (Lock, 2007). Following this perspective, project management
practice is conceptualise as a difficult and complex task which requires that project managers should be aware of some
theoretical challenges underpinning their practices.
