Good night Yuva.
Unfortunately you are correct. Raising the prices of LPG will have an inflationary impact on
everything. Heating, not that it is needed much. Cooking and of course the price of food. And
not just at the store. The price will increase with the street merchants also. I would have thought
this would be one thing for the government to try and avoid. I certainly did not think of it
yesterday. Shame on me. Perhaps I do not see everything as clearly as I did when I was younger.
Or I am just getting slow! And another late thought, the cost of getting back and forth to work.
Just what Bangkok needs, everyone trying to get back into town to save money on transportation
costs! That will drive up the cost for rents and ownership. Property values at least in cities will go
up rapidly. And the last slow thought, Once all these increases start taking effect, the poor will
become more poor and the rich will by virtue of owning everything, will get richer. A lot of good
will after the take over could be lost. Perhaps the government should rethink this cause and effect
strategy.
It would appear the people running tourist from the main land going out to Phi Phi Island should
be more worried about going slow and not taking as many chances. The last boating accident killed
two South Korean tourists. And back on Oct. 5th, another boating accident caused two tourist from
India to drown. In both case, the boating operators have been charged, but this kind of mews is
not going to help the tourist recovery efforts. It is now hitting the news in the West. And of course the
slightly reported but will soon gather world wide attention is the report that the two Burmese men
accused of killing British tourists on the Thai island of Koh Tao have retracted their confessions,
their lawyers say. The report goes into how a Thai Human Rights organization is paying for the
lawyers and say they have evidence of physical intimidation. So I am sure we will be seeing more on
this one.
Pleasant dreams and sleep well. I think of you always.
Hugs & Kisses.
