As a new magnetic recording paradigm, TDMR aims to
record one bit of information in one or a few grains, with
the goal of achieving a recording density of 10 Tb/in2 [1].
Signal processing in TDMR encounters several challenges
such as read channel modeling, detection in the presence of
severe two-dimensional inter-symbol interference (2-D ISI),
constrained and error correction code design and etc. Among
these, modeling of the read channel is one of the critical issues
for detector design.
