I worked with the CM and HR manager on developing a framework for a two-day, facilitated off site meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to create an environment where the CM could give clarity on the direction of the business; the team could co-create a shared vision for the future; the team could review it's effectiveness as a leadership team and agree the change of behaviour required; and the team could work together on identifying critical business objectives and plans. I facilitated the
off-site meeting maintaining business focus and encouraging individuals to voice their views; listen to others and contribute to lively, sometimes heated, debate.
The Outcome: Although there was some initial resistance to the process (which we worked through), the team is now committed to a common purpose; are clear about the role they play in the achieving the required results; and hold each other accountable for both results and behaviours. Building an effective team is an on-going process; the team has a robust communication process to help ensure they make the time to review their work as a team as well as the business results.
