Dear Colleagues,
You will have realized over the last weeks that the workload in our company has been dropping below capacity in some departments. Despite a still reasonable manhour backlog of some months, we will see this trend continue and affect most of our departments. We have been very fortunate over the last 3 years to have a very high workload which allowed us to grow and develop the company further, but as you all know it is common to have times of high and times of lower workload.
We are confident that based on our sound opportunity and project list we will be able to secure some contracts in the coming weeks and months and get back to a higher utilization and workload. Here we are working on not only securing projects in Thailand and South East Asia, but also on expanding our cooperation with other TKIS a group companies as well as expanding our technology base and capabilities.
To support some important proposals we have allocated dedicated technical staff to work on these proposals in both Map Ta Phut and Bangkok offices.
Even though we need to prepare ourselves for a reduced workload situation, we always have to be able to respond to the market quickly. This means that we need to maintain and further develop our strong employment base. To be quite clear, we have not planned or are considering reducing our work force. We shall continue to follow our strategy to grow TKIS Thailand.
Consequently we will be taking actions that will either help to develop our company further or allow us to contain cost.
We have already discussed with the department management and would also like to encourage you to use the time of lower work load on contracts to progress and complete some of the internal improvement works that we had to postpone because of the high workload. During this year we learned that there are many areas for improvement in our company, and consider it of utmost importance to get these lesson learnt sorted out.
We would also like to reiterate that as part of company regulations it is required to take all leave due in the year by 31 December. We have informed the department managers about this and encourage you and ask for your support to take your leave for 2014 in the next weeks before year end.
Both the Bangkok and the Map Ta Phut offices will close from Wednesday 31th December 2014 and will reopen for normal business on Monday 5th January 2015. Annual leave entitlement will apply for the one working day.
We have also ceased all office based and reduced site based overtime as far as possible. If the progress on contracts or projects is critical we encourage the project and proposal managers to ask for additional staff for the respective department manager rather than work overtime.
I trust you will all be understanding and supportive of the measures taken by TKIS Thailand Management.
Best Regards,
