History of Kanom Kaipla
Kanom Kaipla is one of Thai local desserts. It can be found in some provinces which there are people grow the sugar palm. The beginning of making Kanom Kaipla came from the wisdom of people in the past because they wanted to emulate the shape of things from the nature. Therefore, they decide to use palmyra for making this dessert because it is a raw material of their area. The reason why people call this "Kanom Kaipla" due to its shape and color look like the roe. Kanom Kaipla is appropriate for welcoming party or offering it to the monks in religious ceremony. The first time of making Kanom Kaipla in the palace was in the era of King Rama V, and then Kanom Kaipla was more famous than before. However, it is difficult to find or buy Kanom Kaipla now, and somebody hardly know about it.
