By analyzing the S. baicalensis samples before andafter extractions by SEM, we found that enhancement of extractionyields by using ILMAE were put down to the damage of the samplemicrostructures in the ILMAE process. However, it was found thatILs and MAE both can inhibit the hydrolysis of baicalin by determin-ing the activity of the crude enzyme solution from S. baicalensis.Therefore, the proposed ILMAE method shows a great promisingprospect in extracting the traditional Chinese medicines.
