The current research “information technology in Indian retailing - issues and challenges, a case study on rise
and fall of subhiksha retail chains” is confined to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. This study
mainly focused on the strategies of subiksha retail outlets and the reasons for its failure in spite of the use of
modern methods like ERP systems, best marketing practices like everyday low pricing (EDLP) pricing and
early entrance in to the market
