One measure suggested by the present set of findings is the inclusion of the
educational administration course in the programme requirements of the
teacher education degree. If the course is made a requirement, it can be used to
prepare all students for the realities of the workplace leading them to form
more realistic expectations with respect to the main aspects of school
organisation and administration. For this to be possible, the course should
continue to address both the relevant theory and its translation into practice in
the primary schools of Cyprus. Moreover, it may be necessary to increase the
involvement of headmasters and inspectors in the offering of the course in
order to enable pre-service teachers to meet, and interact with, their future
supervisors.
