a liquid lorm ro facilirare the digesrive process. The intestinal mucosa
produces most of the secrerions that enrer the sma.ll intesrine, but the
secretions of the liver and rhe pancreas a.lso enrer rhe small intesrine
md play essential roles in the process of digestion (see table 2l.l).
