• From investigations it seems the ED Adhesion problems is caused by excessive anti-corrosion oil on the Prospect tubes.
• This then seems to get affected by the welding temperatures into a hardened oily surface or varnish type layer affecting the ED adhesion.
• We also need to check the type of oil they are using – K.Jutamas, please speak to them and request product data sheet
• To help understand more I have asked K.Naret to organise that the 9 x trolleys of DP frames waiting to go to JRP have extra polishing around the affected areas.
• The frames will then be tagged with DEV tags and sent to JRP tomorrow morning.
• I will then go to JRP and watch them go thru the ED process and review their controls etc.
• The frames should then come back to F3 for inspection before sending to F5
• All other frames in production should have the same polishing.
• I want us to quickly move to hot pre-washing the following Tubes – to do one trolley at a time so they not go rusty:
o Prop Tubes - 2073844 & 2073845
o Down Tube Lowers – 2073846 & 2073847
o Down Tube Uppers – 2073876 & 2073877
• As soon as we start this washing we can stop doing the extra washing – we need to record the first WO to this condition for monitoring
• Long-term we will look to improve the condition of the oiling from Prospect so we can stop the pre-washing process
