Fungal allergens elicit hypersensitivity
reactions, not only of type I (IgE-mediated) but also of
type II, type III (IgG-mediated) and type IV (delayed type
hypersensitivity), that may act together to mediate pathogenesis.
Yet, fungi are poorly studied in the field of
molecular allergology, and the role of fungal allergens in
airway diseases is poorly characterised
