Translation is the result of a research that had as aim the creation of an experimental audio/visual fingerprint of the spatial context holding the work. The environment’s image is realtime translated into sound and emitted by a speaker in the space where it gets modified and enriched by it and anybody present. Sound is then captured back and re-translated in to image. This process creates a hyper-image, a visual representation of the space that also contains its sonic characteristics.
