Dermal exposure to chlorpyrifos and methamidophos of 32 farmers in Nicaragua using motorized or manual backpack sprayers was most frequently observed on the front and back of the hands ([87 %), the front side of the
left forearm (75 %), and the back of the trunk (75 %; Arago
´n et al. 2006). In this study, concerns were raised about
drift of pesticide mist and inhalation exposure, but personal
air sampling during pesticide application was not done.
