a computer which processes discrete data in numerical form and perform directly
the mathematical operations. The data will be expressed in binary digits; 0 and 1,
which is precise and easy to collect. Digital computers are now used for a wide range of
personal, business, scientific, and government purposes.
Analog Computer
On the contrary, an analog computer uses the continuously changeable aspects of
physical phenomena such as electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic quantities to model
the problem being solved. Analog computers can have a very wide range of complexity.
Because of this feature, analog computers were especially useful in the simulation and
evaluation of dynamic situations, such as the flight of a space capsule or the changing
weather patterns over a certain area.
