After making the delegation, the manager and
organization have responsibilities to ensure effective
communication and support to the subordinate. This
often requires that the manager be available and approachable
if the subordinate accepting the delegation
needs support or assistance. In many ways delegation
effectiveness, as well as professional and organizational
success, demands a supportive organizational
climate that encourages, empowers and rewards subordinates
who demonstrate a willingness to “step up to
the plate” and assume new and challenging responsibilities
through the delegation process.
