silage carried out the best fermentation quality in this
study, with the lowest pH value (4.0 and 3.9), VFA
concentration and the highest LA concentration (56.3
and 57.9 g kg-1 DM in 2009 and 2010, respectively).
Furthermore, compared with the control of Tables 2
and 4, the fermentation qualities of the mixture silage
were slightly better than the PV silage. Then it was
necessary to apply additive for carrying out more successful
fermentation.
The nutritional values of the mixture silage were increased
by additive application of LAB, WB and LAB+WB
(Table 5). The PV and CS with additive tended to have
higher WSC residue in the silage. Meanwhile, CP content
tended to increase while NDF and ADF content declined
