phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation is currently the most common ophthalmic surgical procedure, and endophthalmitis continues to be a sight-threatening complication of cataract surgery, despite advaces in surgical techniques. Perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis may reduce the risk of endophthalmitis. Therefore, intracameral triamcinolone acetonide injection following cataract surgery would prevent postoperativeendophthalmitis. Ahmed et al also showed that intracameral triamcinolone acetonide and GM appears to be a promising treatment option for the control of postoperative inflammation following cataract surgery.
