• The Admissions Committee first considers the rigor of your high school course selection (enriched, honors, AP, IB, etc.) through senior year. The number of academic courses you have taken is also important.
• More important to the Admissions Committee than a cumulative grade point average are the individual grades you have earned in core academic courses (English, math, science, social studies, history, foreign language) in grades 9 through 12 and your trend in grades.
• Unless they are also taking college courses off campus, seniors need to complete at least four units during their senior year, but are strongly urged to complete at least five. Students taking fewer than five academic units generally face a very difficult transition to college.
International Students:
• All applicants for admissions must take the TOEFL, unless English is your native language.
• The minimum TOEFL score required is 90 (TOEFLibt) or 570 (paper).
• An IELTS score of 6.5 or better may be submitted in place of a TOEFL score.
Note: Students must have a TOEFL unless students are admitted through the Conditional Admissions Program, in which case no TOEFL is required.
